IT Support - System Engineer

Functie

An IT Support System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting IT infrastructure in Microsoft Windows environment. A System Engineer performs a wide variety of tasks, including the installation, configuration and upgrading of workstations, servers and related hardware and software in a LAN, WAN and stand-alone environment. He or she investigates problems, performs diagnostic testing and applies suitable repairs or solutions to the IT systems, both on a hardware and software level.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hardware management:
    • Purchase, set-up, maintain end-user hardware.
    • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools (Intune).
  • Print management:
    • Set up, support, control and dispatch to supplier if necessary.
  • User Account Control:
    • Interact with users and internal customers regarding account set-up. Control and manage user accounts in the Windows Active Directory and Azure (Entra) environment.
  • Email Services:
    • Manage Microsoft Exchange Online services such as Share mailbox delegation.
  • SharePoint:
    • Create and support company SharePoint sites/pages.
  • Other:
    • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by constantly managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure.
    • Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
    • Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
    • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
    • Supervise the administration of systems, servers and applications to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
    • Update IT documentation.
    • Set-up, configuration and update Windows servers.
    • Any other duties as assigned by management.

First Line support

  • Participate in the first line IT support duty together with other system engineers according to a pre-planned duty roster.
  • IT service request and incident management: accept, distribute, close tickets.
  • Manage IT Support ticketing system.
  • Communication with users about daily IT problems: ask for more information, inform about workarounds, propose solutions, timing etc.

Jouw profiel

Experience:

  • Have a passion for IT.
  • Minimum bachelor in IT or same level through experience.
  • Minimum ⚠ years of experience.
  • Professional experience in an international environment is a plus.
  • Experience in the domains described above is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, …).
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server and computer operating systems.
  • Knowledge on the Microsoft O⚠ environment.

  • Ontwikkelingsteams, informaticaproductieteams of gebruikers adviseren en bijstaan bij de keuze en toepassing van technische oplossingen
  • Technische beheerprocedures, gebruiks- en veiligheidsprocedures van de informatica infrastructuur opstellen
  • Hulpsystemen voor toezicht, beveiliging en beheer van de informatica infrastructuur opzetten
  • Storingen, incidenten en onregelmatigheden identificeren
    Een diagnose stellen en corrigerende maatregelen toepassen
  • Toegangsrechten bepalen en opvolgen naargelang de karakteristieken van de gebruikers of de diensten
  • Prestaties van het informatiesysteem analyseren
    Maatregelen voorstellen voor de verbetering van de kwaliteit, de veiligheid en de productiviteit
