In the Social Services Application Development functional area of the Data Processing department at our head office in Kassel, we have a vacancy for a

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (m/f/d)

to be filled.
The department is responsible, among other things, for the development and support of self-developed data processing procedures to support the performance of tasks by our employees (m/f/d). We maintain a modern corporate culture with flat hierarchies and open doors and are a future-proof employer in a regulated environment.

Your tasks:

The main focus of the advertised position is the technical definition and development of data processing procedures. Your range of tasks includes the

  • Collaboration in one of our development teams in the development and implementation of individual and complex client-server or web-based software
  • Participation in planning and conception in JIRA, as well as documentation in Confluence
  • Individual programming of software elements based on secure, stable and established technologies, but also taking current technology trends into account
  • Close cooperation with team colleagues (m/f/d) and project management
  • Collaboration in cross-divisional projects of the State Welfare Association of Hesse, but also with the Rhineland and Westphalia-Lippe Regional Associations

Your qualification:

You have a degree in computer science, business informatics, administrative informatics or a comparable course of study or have completed a comparable qualification and have many years of experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility

Your further profile:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and practice
    • in the architecture of modern software systems
    • in object-oriented software development and the use of corresponding methods
    • in dealing with SQL databases (especially Oracle) and application servers
  • The following are particularly advantageous
    • Good knowledge of development environments, tools and technologies, such as HTML5, CSS/LESS, Angular, TypeScript, Java EE, JSON, REST, PowerBuilder and PL/SQL
    • Knowledge of the design and development of dialog-oriented user interfaces, taking into account usability and accessibility requirements
    • Knowledge of different procedures for the implementation of IT projects
  • Ability to think and act analytically and economically
  • Good written and spoken German skills

  • Cooperation and ability to work in a team
  • Great commitment based on a strong understanding of service
