Business Development Manager BE - Industrial access control

My client is a International Group specialised in security solutions - manufactured in France.

European leader in security solutions for the banking industry, today the company is turning an exciting corner - expanding it's product portfolio to further penetrate new markets - more specifically sensitive industrial environments requiring access control infrastructure, explosive proof equipment, etc.

Having already developed their products portfolios in this direction, they are now looking for a strong business developer profile to carry this challenge in Belgium.


  • True Business developer role
    • 80% New Business Development through prospecting, clients & prospects visits & offers making.
    • The focus will be to deepen penetration of the "sensitive industrial environments" market : Antwerp port, oil refinery sites, etc.
    • 20% existing account management with cross & up selling to help you get started with stable accounts and develop technical expertise
  • True hands-on candidate: you are the
    • ambassador of the company on your market, you meet with a variety of stakeholders including purchasing departments, technical & facility departments, C-level executive, architects, building companies, installers, etc.
    • technical expert of the company facing the clients, you'll develop a strong technical expertise of the products range
    • commercial manager for that product range in Belgium, you are leading, in collaboration with the Belgian commercial director, the commercial strategy and development of that business unit in Belgium
    • sales hand-on you are in charge of negotiating with the clients and preparing your offers so you control 100% of the interactions with clients

The right profile will have

  • Minimum 7 years of technical sales experience - ideally in industrial context OR representing security/access control products OR selling solutions to sensitive industrial environments
  • Able to work fluently in Dutch & English, French is a nice to have but not mandatory
  • A strong business developer sense - you can map out a market, identify prospects and have the resiliency to penetrate a market through regular contacts with various people within the same organisation
  • You are not short-term oriented : industrial sales cycles are long & complex. You are a resilient profile, able to handle a variety of more & less technical oriented profiles throughout a sales cycle, handling it like a commercial project.
  • You are a strong, results-oriented sales with the ability to work with highly technical products. You enjoy a high level of autonomy and are hands-on (you don't expect a back office to handle all the admin, you stay on top of all aspects of your business). You are looking for a challenge with clear set of objectives and the possibility

Salary package foreseen: between 60k & 85k gross fixed/year + up to 3 months of bonus + full package (including company car, hospitalisation insurance & group insurance, meal vouchers, eco vouchers, monthly net allowances & 32 days off/year)
