The IT department is responsible for and shapes the entire IT of the City of Munich. We ensure that IT provision meets the city's current and future needs. We drive the digitalization of the city of Munich and play a pioneering role. Our work and services make the city of Munich a digital metropolis that sets standards that its employees are proud of.

As part of the IT department, we ensure a modern IT and telecommunications infrastructure, implement professional IT solutions and secure the IT operations of the City of Munich with over 1,200 employees in our own company it@M.

What you can expect

You will be responsible for the release and life cycle management of a complex IT purchasing solution with business-critical risks and numerous interfaces to internal and external partner processes in the field of residents' registration. You will plan, organize and coordinate complex releases in the context of further development, care and maintenance, process error messages yourself and assess the risks of proposed changes. You will also process and track the prioritization and scheduling of error messages as part of product release management. In all these activities, you will manage communication with the customer, the external software manufacturer and our infrastructure teams and coordinate the cooperation of all parties involved.

Occasionally, the job requires you to work outside of core working hours. This can occasionally lead to weekend work or on-call duty.

You have

  • a successfully completed university degree in the field of computer science, administrative informatics or business informatics or
  • a successfully completed university degree or equivalent skills and experience

and

  • many years (at least three years) of professional experience in the IT sector

In particular, you bring with you

  • Specialist knowledge: Many years (at least three years) of experience in release and life cycle management of complex specialist applications and in IT service processes, knowledge regarding architecture and design of software solutions, in particular the typical technology stack of modern software solutions (interaction of databases, application servers, middleware, clients) and experience in the software development process (requirements management, design, realization, testing, preparation for operation, rollout)
  • Result and goal orientation, in particular technical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to cooperate and deal with conflict

Experience in supplier management is an advantage
